Prednisone.

Prednisone is a prescription corticosteroid that can be used for the treatment of breathing disorders, allergic disorders, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, psoriasis, lupus, skin conditions, and so other ones as prescribed by your health care provider. Prednisone may weaken your immune system, so if you have any infection your health care provider needs to be notified to see what needs to be done for effective treatment that will not harm other aspects of your health. Make sure you avoid places with too many people around, as prednisone can weaken your immune system. It's very important that you tell your health care provider if you have or used to have any medical conditions that may affect the dose you are prescribed. The following ones are especially important to mention: kidney disease, mental illness, osteoporosis, depression, tuberculosis, herpes infection, diabetes, liver disease, high blood pressure, and glaucoma. Mild side effects are possible but they usually tend to go away on their own, so there will be no need for you to worry about anything. The following ones are possible: thinning skin, sleep problems, nausea, mood changes, stomach pain, bruising, dry skin, headache, acne, and dizziness.
